Although we practised our Greek survival phrases on our 9.5 h flight, we pretty well only know how to say hello. We are already getting better at recognizing the letters of the Greek alphabet and their sounds. Many words you can guess at. For example, Μετρό is the word for the Metro. Of course we took the Metro in from the airport to save money. This adventure involved me dragging, literally dragging, my suitcase uphill for 30 minutes (would have been less, but Dad took a "shortcut" through the National Gardens).
We are settled into our lovely, but tiny, apartment. The view of the Acropolis is spectacular. Tomorrow we are going to check it out.
You are Always in My Prayers. Love Mom
Nexus Note: We enjoyed Greek Yogurt and honey for supper--the real thing is soooo good. We are stocked up on olive oil; so suggestions are welcome. Sorry to disappoint, but one of our closest restaurants is Dominoes Pizza.
