No, this sunset is from the beach and little rocky cove right in front of our apartment.

Yes, cool would be one word to describe the sunsets. They have been particularly beautiful here in Greece. But sometimes I think we fail to notice the great colours in Ontario sunsets and skies.

Yes the water is still warm though the temperature in the air has been slightly cooler (20-25 degree highs). I also enjoyed swimming with a mask and looking at the small fish in the cove. (video to follow)

While it was just as pretty in real life, Diane has a real eye, and great photographic skills to capture such great pictures.

It is the Ionian Sea, part of the Mediterranean Sea, so salt water.

Diane and I both liked the sunset. We have been swimming every day since we arrived at this apartment not too far from Olympia.

Where is that in Greece?

It is in a part of Greece called Peloponnese. We picked this apartment since it is on the coast but only about 35 minutes from Olympia. If you put Katakolo in google maps, that is our nearest town, about 4 km away. It is a port for cruise boats. Today there was three large ships in port.

The large white thing is a large block of feta cheese. It is much cheaper here than back and home and bought a large block. I made salads for supper and so used up some of it.

I love flowers wherever I find them in the world. This apartment was in an area called the pelopenese. Anna and her parents live upstairs and they rent the apartments below. We didn't know her before but now she is my Facebook friend.

is there any golf courses in Ancient Greece ?

Golf is a much more modern game, and comes from the United Kingdom. But now that you ask the question, I can't recall even passing a golf course here. I am sure they have some, but I sense that it is not as popular and in North America.

Q1: Did you eat and drink the oil in a bottle, cheese, etc,?
Reply
Ray

No I have only used a little bit of the oil and some of the cheese. The cheese will be finished before we head home, but I will try to bring some of the oil back with me. The Greeks tend to use a lot of oil and would not think of that as a large bottle of oil.

It is beautiful, and I think you notice it because it it a bit different than home. We live in a wonderful world, and when I return from a trip it usually strikes me how beautiful Ontario is that wonderful views are all around us.

They are Geraniums, they look a lot like the geraniums we have in our hanging baskets back at home.

Q1. How was the water? Was it warm? Was it cold?

The water here is really warm. Even though it is the end of September it still feels warmer than Lake Huron in the hottest part of summer. We are heading to Santorini now (by plane). It is warm There all year round with the coldest average temperature being 12 in January. Some high places in Greece get snow and they can ski. I like the sunsets better because I see more of them. Ray likes getting up really early so he sees more sunrises.

What a relaxing video of the fish swimming .. except that I was a little "on edge" wondering what I would see next!!! I watched again when I realized that it was safe. Ha Ha. I guess that unlike you guys, I am a very cautious traveller!! I am really enjoying your videos, stories, and pictures. Thanks so much for sharing... love Bernie

I am note sure. They are not coral fish since this was shot just off the rocks. I do plan to do some more snorkelling so maybe I will get some more pictures and be able to find out what they are called.

Seas are smaller than oceans and are usually located where the land and ocean meet.
