Today we travelled through a largely barren area of Iceland. Apparently there is an old Icelandic saying that if you get lost in an Icelandic forest just stand up. In a country where the landscape is consistently reinventing itself the lack of trees makes sense. Even yesterday there where three earth quakes in Iceland.!The geyser that is a hero today is not the same geyser that was the hero of yesteryear. We also learned that the viewing platform in the Rift Valley had to be reconstructed due to the separation of the Euro-Asia and North American plates. I am fascinated by the research and technologies invented to adjust to this ever changing climate. My biggest adjustment today was trying tomato flavoured ice cream. It was absolutely yummy!
