Ancora Imparo (Yet I am learning) ― Michelangelo We just returned from a romantic stroll along the Arno River--the three of us (Mom, Dad and The Camera). As today was our first full day here we took it easy, which for us is: one Renaissance walking tour, one church and one museum. As we approached the church of Santo Spirito we noted that a funeral mass was just finishing. It was an important reminder that we are have inserted ourselves into the everyday lives of the Florentines. Respectfully observing their joys and sorrows provides an important face to travel. The chiesa houses a wooden crucifix known as one of the early works of Michelangelo. It is moving in its simplicity. Tomorrow we start our touring in earnest. Our Firenze Card covers 72 hours and 67 museums/churches/palaces. Your Dad has an ambitious plan that involves visiting eighteen! This adventure is definitely going to have to be powered by gelato if we are going to continue to experience dolce vita (the sweet life). You are Always in my Prayers. Love Mom
