Just before sunset we arrived at St. Anthony's to share in the home and hospitality of the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement. The dancing Francis silhouetted against the setting sun seemed to signal this was going to be a special place. An hour later, our bellies full of pasta, we stood by the square munching on the best roasted chestnuts ever as we enjoyed the UNTO Olive Festival. Free samples to taste, jesters juggling fire, dancing girls with garlands on their heads and very loud music all seemed that more exciting when it is happening in Italian. “And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon.” ― The Owl and the Pussycat You are Always in my Prayers. Love Mom. P.S. The sisters have wifi!

The guest house is both peaceful and lovely. We started the sunset on our balcony overlooking St. Chiara church and moved to the library to catch the last dying embers as we read and caught up with friends. It is All Saints Day here which is a religious holiday so that in itself has been fascinating. Hopefully we'll have an opportunity to chat on our return.
