Originally we were to take the cable car up and do a 3ish hour hike of the top of Table Mountain. Unfortunately our hike was cancelled for today. They offered us the six hour hike all the way up the mountain and around the top for the same price. Dad loves a deal, so we got up before five o'clock this morning to hike for six hours before it got too hot. It wasn't pretty. I was red and the face and huffing like the big bad wolf. At some points I was crawling on all fours like a dog to make it up the rocks. But it was worth it. I can't believe I climbed a whole mountain😀 Dad, of course, did fabulous. He scampered right up that old mountain. It definitely would not be fun if you were afraid of heights. Do you think you would try it?
On the top of the mountain are many species of unusual flowers. We saw a giant king protea bush. It is the national flower of South Africa. It was just coming out in buds. It will be in full bloom in March. It will be even more beautiful then.
My legs might be a little sore tomorrow. You are Always in my Prayers. Love Mom.
P.S. We took the cable car back to the bottom.

The EFF (Economic Freedom Party) has been protesting outside of parliament for two days now--apparently they plan to go all weekend. Their main goal is to take back the land from the whites, which they claim don't have a right to it. Do you see parallels between their agenda and issues we are facing in Canada?
