We are still having stormy weather here in Kruger National Park. Apparently the elephants are loving the cloud and rain because we saw tons of them. One herd had at least thirty. Can you see the tourist in the middle? I think she is taking a selfie--not smart!
So, we didn't see the leopard and lion to complete our Big Five. We did see what our guide called the ugly five: hyena, crocodile, warthog, Malibu stork, and wildebeest. Still an amazing day😄 You are Always in My Prayers. Love Mom.

What kind of elephants were there? Do hyenas whine a lot? Which animal was your favourite?

These were African Elephants. Big Ears. This hyena was perfectly quiet because they are not usually out in the day. I was Suprised that so far the giraffes have been my favourite.

Our guide called the hyena, Malibu stoke, crocodile, wildebeest and warthog the ugly Five as opposed to the Big Five that most people are looking for. However, I thought the hyena was cute😄

Did you get to drive in a car that close to the Elephants too? Did the elephants ever touch your vehicle with their trunks.

We were quite close to the elephants but our driver was smart enough to not let them touch the game vehicle.

Did you get to ride on an elephant again this time? Did the elephant spray you? Were you as close to the elephants as the car was?

Why do you think she would take a selfie horizontally?

How many elephants were in each herd? Were there any baby elephants? What type of vehicle were you in? Did you see any elephants playing in the mud? How big would you estimate the largest elephant you saw?

The biggest group of elephants we saw was around 35. There were quite a few baby elephants but they were still quite big. Usually seeing elephants in the mud is a thing but we didn't see any in the mud. We saw full sized males which are huge.

Are the elephants stinky? Are you having fun?

Elephants really aren't a stinky animal like seals and camels. We are having loads of fun.
