Omnicron …16000 Cases per day in ON….Rapid Home-test kits—and yet I feel optimistic about the New Year. Stay Safe out there!

We have chosen to travel to Texas. We hadn't seen our precious grandson for almost two years. In the life of a 2 1/2 year old that is more than a lifetime! Now, I'm not justifying our decision—there are pros and cons. But, I thought I would share with you how I’m learning to balance the prison of my Covid anxiety with learning to live life more fully in a pandemic.
First of all, the plane felt safe. Masks are mandatory, everyone has to have a negative Covid Test. The air circulation felt good. There was a couple that wore what appeared to be full hazmat suits. T says my caution factor is 11/10. They were maybe a 15😄 But one thing I’m learning with all of this is that “you do you” and “I’ll do me”. Judging doesn’t help. We rented a beach condo for the month--I know, what a hardship. We mask and sanitize. Texans are not big maskers, but no one has challenged us Crazy Canucks for being cautious. We choose the ocean over the pool. Oh, and eating out truly means eating OUT! Most importantly, #Nana’sBoy recognized this Gma from FaceTime and welcomed me with a big hug and a cuddle. Three Covid Negative tests in nine days ($1000)! It’s a good thing we are fully vaccinated.
A huge shout out to Mount Sinai hospital for taking such great care of our boy. You are always in our Prayers. Love Mom. Third Wave lockdown has been tough….but tomorrow we move into phase one return to services. Hello Camping!
Our weekly stint volunteering at the vaccination clinic. Roll up your sleeves everyone!
We have entered Wave 3 Lockdown, but still managed OutDoor Dining—Thank you Bruce Trail!
