Our last day in Europe, so we had to fit in as much as we could. A couple more art galleries. Of course, another trip to Otto's Waffle Atelier. Otto himself prepared Ray's waffle to go. And finally a decadent plunge into Belgian chocolate.
The tour was interesting, but all-you-can-eat chocolate plus samples from the demonstration--well, that's a dream come true. Next time we see ya'll will be in Listy. You are Always in my Prayers. Love Mom.

I usually like dark, but Ray and I both agreed their milk chocolate was the best. I asked the demonstrator which was most popular and he agreed it was their milk chocolate.

Ok…..quite a bit. But surprisingly you cant eat as much chocolate as you think—you fill up pretty quickly. There were some teens there that were trying to go all out and after a short time were like “we’re done!”

We went to Otto’s twice. Then one evening Ray had to find an ATM. He took a while. Guess what he was doing? Eating more waffles!

Well, we both know Ray loves good of any type and lots of it. As well, when we are travelling he is always thinking whether or not he can recreate the dish at home.

The chocolates were very high I. Fat and sugar. I am pretty sure we ate more than our daily calories in that room. Definitely not diet chocolate.

Is the Belgian chocolate made any different then it is in Canada? If so how?

Cocoa is not a local product in the Netherlands so the cocoa is all imported. We learned that Belgium chocolates use very finely ground cocoa and a lot of it. and are usually filled. Chocolates.

I hade waffles (from my favorite Brugge waffle vendor Otto) twice. The first was topped with chocolate sauce, ice cream and strawberries. My second time was his waffle to go, just a plain waffle with sprinkled powdered sugar. I really like just a plain waffle with sugar.

Why is the waffle square and not circle🧇?

Normally they are circular but at Otto’s they are not quite square but more flower shaped and looked delicious.
