In the 6th to 4th century BC the Oracle of Delphi was the most important shrine in all Greece. Pilgrims came to the centre of the world (the belly button) to get their questions answered by the priestess. Now we just Google it 😄 We are enjoying a two day bus tour out of Athens. Lots of great information, great local food, and cooler temperatures. Surprise of the day: Greece is one of the top ten cotton producing countries in the world. We passed field after field of fluffy cotton. You are Always In My Prayers. Love Mom.

Trust me. I think a hint chunk of feta could solve a lot of problems....Honestly, we would have served the whole family with a piece that size. Love you--you need to come to Greece. Love Mom

Great to see the appearance of the GreeK Salad!!! One of my favourite salads but didn't know it was life-saving!! We are kicking off the NEXUS Travel & Tourism course today so we will have some more questions for you shortly. Thanks for the food recipes as we are going to try the salad and Greek yogurt soon.

Did you go on those giant mountains? How long did it take to get up there if you did go on it? It looks hard to climb the mountains.

We drove through the mountains, the road twisted and turned all the way up through the passes. At Delphi we did hike up through the site which is built into the side of Mount Parnassus which rises to 2500 meters. Our hike was about 25 minutes up the side. Today we did see rock climbers on the vertical sides in Meteora.

Good thing you drove or else it would take a while to walk up there.

You are looking at the foundations of the Temple of Apollo with just six of the original columns left. Try to imagine a big temple with walls and columns all around on top of the foundations

Question 1: Did the Greek Salad taste good or bad and was it spicy?

The Greek salad was excellent, but it was so big and with so much cheese. It was not spicy the main seasoning is oregano.

Excellent question. Today we posted a picture and some information about it. The stone in the picture is one the Romans added almost two thousand years ago. The original stone was almost 800 years older.

No not yet, that will be near the end of the month. In Delphi they also had a stadium but it was roped off. Just down the street there is an ancient stadium that was restored for the first modern Olympics of 1897. At the top there is a running track which I have used for my morning runs.
