Well, today nothing went as planned so we had the opportunity to delight in the unplanned. Today was a Buddhist holy day of reflection. Instead of touring the Royal Palace we mingled with the crowds of Cambodians offering lotus flowers, burning incense, and setting cages of tiny birds free on the shore of the Mekong River.
Afterwards we set off on the long bus ride to Siem Reap which included a snack break. Along with the tasty tarantula your dad sampled crickets, silk worms and tadpoles--yum! I hope he doesn't spend the night in the happy room (how our guide refers to the washroom). You are always in my prayers. Love Mom P.S. As if there were any doubt, I did NOT try the tarantulas--I am watching my cholesterol.
