Sitting on our comfy benches in the back of our 4x4 we held on very, very tight. As we fish-tailed through the sand dunes we were stunned by the incredible beauty of the Arabian Desert.
Have you ever rolled down a sand dune? It makes you a little dizzy, and you get really sandy, but it is so much fun. Climbing the rock arches was a little more challenging, but Ray and some of my new friends helped me get all the way up to the top! After a busy day we said goodnight to a sky full of stars to head off to our goat hair tents. I don’t think I would make a very good Bedouin but I definitely had a great night’s sleep curled up under a pile of warm blankets. You are Always in My Prayers. Love Mom.

We are trying to figure out if it was Ray or Diane rolling down the sand hill in the video!

It was Diane. She reported the sand was comfortably warm.

We enjoyed watching you roll down the sand dune! Did you get covered in sand when you were rolling down? We were wondering if you had pillows when you were sleeping in the tents or just warm blankets? How cold was it during the night?

Diane even had sand in her ears after rolling down. The beds had pillows and with the blankets it was comfortable. It only went down to about 9 degrees.

No, Ray did not roll down the hill. It was fun, not painful.
