You are right it is the leaves of the prickly pear cactus, the thorns are removed. Cut into strips and grilled.

Around how long did it take to make the tortilla?

We did not have to make the dough. It took about four minutes to roll, flatten and then cook each tortilla.

I have bought store corn tortillas and not liked them. These fresh tortillas where so much better tasting.

Ive seen sugar cane crushed like that—Ray actually has a small one at home from India that he uses to crush spices.

You could really taste the corn. As they cooked they smelled a bit like popcorn.
